STEREO MASTERING

We master everything in stereo, the traditional way to optimize a track's dynamics and spectral balance. We also take care to master tracks to be compatible with their destined media (TV, radio, etc.)

Stereo Mastering includes :

- Mono compatibility and stereo imaging

- Dynamics processing

- Equalization

- We accept, and even recommend, working with the instrumental & acapella tracks separate

Keep a breathing space

Don’t try to push your level to 0 dB when you’re mixing, it is better to let a margin of 4 to 6 dB. If this level is not respected, it will make us push it down and that’ll change the nature of the sound for nothing.

Avoid dynamic processing on the master bus

It’s attracting to insert some dynamic effects on the master bus to make it sound closer of the finished result. Nevertheless, and that’s really important, every things you’ll try to do at this stage will considerably reduce our possibilities of work in the studio. Keep some flexibility in your mix… The real sensation of punch comes from the dynamic and not from excessive compression !

Take care of the stereo Image

Try not to move away bass frequencies from the center, that could unbalance your mix

Be careful of the reverb

Avoid a reverb to present in your mix, the mastering process (especially compression and limiting) will make it arise even more

Don’t cut your audio files to early

Beware of the last sustained note or « the reverb queue » at the end of your track, you may not ear it in your mix but after the mastering this note would last a bit longer and the cut would be listenned.

To finish, Don’t change the sampling frequency of your original mix ! If it’s 48k, export it in 48k/32bit, if it’s 44,1k export it in 44,1k/32bit
